A new vision sensor is designed to pay attention to every detail of surfaces and contours, ensuring maximum quality assurance.

Features of the Dualis sensor include:

  • Combinable two-dimensional inspection of surfaces and contours
  • User-friendly software that simplifies inspection task set-up
  • Powerful algorithms to help master even demanding requirements
  • Reliable functioning in changing light conditions
  • Maladjustment monitoring to ensure reliable quality control

The sensor is described as an extraneous-light resistant search and find expert, able to detect missing retaining clips, threads that have not been milled properly, too much adhesive or incorrectly shaped components, as well as any other deviation of an object from the specified target conditions. Surface areas, contours, omissions, or object rotation can be checked and evaluated individually as well as in combination. An integrated daylight filter is designed to make the Dualis extremely resistant to extraneous light and the version with an integrated polarisation filter is said to be ideal for applications with particularly highly reflective objects.

User-friendly ifm Vision Assistant software is set up to allow even complex tasks to be quickly defined. Real-time maintenance options help ensure reliable quality assurance. For example, changes in the continuously checked image sharpness and the image brightness indicate an unintentional maladjustment, and the sensor then automatically issues a warning.

The new Dualis sensor is available from ifm electronic.
