One of the world's largest electric motor manufacturers, WEG is showcasing its offering to the agriculture community in Bothaville, at Nampo 2025. Engineering News joined WEG external sales executive Bruce Grobler at the event in the Free State to talk about how the company is driving innovation in agricultural technology and supporting South Africa’s evolving agri-sector needs.

He explained that WEG is focused on bringing global engineering and automation solutions to local farmers, while adapting them for South African conditions. As food security and climate adaptation become more critical, WEG is displaying technologies at Nampo 2025 designed to enhance operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption and support sustainable farming.

By leveraging international knowledge and engineering partnerships, WEG provides reliable, high-performance equipment that strengthens the infrastructure and competitiveness of local agricultural operations.

Grobler noted that Nampo remains a key platform for WEG to engage directly with farmers and agribusiness leaders, allowing the company to understand on-the-ground challenges and tailor its offerings accordingly.
