Project Description
The Al-Zour refinery, with a capacity of 615 000 bbl/d, will be the largest refinery in the Middle East once completed.
The refinery will supply fuel for power generation and water desalination facilities in Kuwait and the remainder will be exported.
Value
The project is estimated at $14.5-billion.
Duration
The refinery is expected to come on line in 2018.
Latest Developments
International engineering and project management company, Amec, has been awarded a $528-million project management consultancy (PMC) contract by the KNPC for the new oil refinery at Al-Zour.
