Integrated Project Alliance (IPA) has developed a complete end-to-end (E2E) project management solution to companies and landlords wanting to reopen their companies after the Covid-19 lockdown measures have been lifted.

Established in March, the E2E solution – the brainchild of development and project director and founder Cathleen Bayne – offers a full spectrum of services that a company might need to align itself with post-Covid-19 regulations.

Bayne explains that the solution includes interior designers, architect firms, an Internet of Things (IoT) company, project management firms, cost-management specialists and a hygiene and cleaning company, as well as certified health and safety professionals.

Since its inception, the team has fine-tuned a workplace journey tracker that highlights any hot spots or interaction points where the company would need to implement safety measures.

All possible risks are assessed and mitigated – from when a staff member leaves home and uses transport to get to work to being at the office and after work – ensuring that the company adheres to any and all regulatory compliances required, explains Bayne.

She adds that IPA not only offers basic solutions, such as screens or sanitisers, but also uses technology to maximise safety and security in the workspace.

One such example is using a remote iPad which is fitted with facial recognition technology, as well as thermal imaging, to check whether a staff member wears a face mask while taking his or her temperature.

Once a staff member meets these criteria, a quick response code – used to open access points to the building – is transferred to his or her cellphone using either Bluetooth, quick response or wiCodes, Bayne explains.

IoT solutions aggregator String facilitated the design and programming required for the access control, as well as other solutions introduced by IPA.

IPA identified that the close contact required for the capturing process is a particularly weak point in terms of physical distancing, as pens change hands during the process. People wearing masks also tend to move closer to one another when trying to communicate.

Consequently, IPA is offering specifically programmed chatbots, which facilitate the process of completing screening questions that would normally be conducted by either a staff member or a client entering any environment which was historically done using a hard copy register.
