Saving Lives through meaningful engagements

DriveRisk are the pioneers in on-road behavioural risk monitoring and driver sciences. For over 20 years, our award winning driver safety program has assisted in correcting many of the common risk factors associated with driving a vehicle, improved upon the overall safety of drivers, and made driving a vehicle on African roads much safer.

Most associated driving risks that are the root cause of accidents and incidents begin with either willful or habitual behaviors. The impact of willful behavioural risks that we impose on ourselves are not always fully understood. The impact of our habitual behavioural risks have become second nature and occur without any attempt of conscious correction.

Many controls are implemented around operational risk factors - how we can better our controls, improve our controls and make them more effective or sustainable over time. With continuous safety messages and reinforcement of controls around the avoidance of incidents associated with operational tasks, we all comply, we all create a habit and we are all very much aware. On the other side of the coin, risks associated with operating a vehicle are limited in their scope and loose in their implementation.

The effective implementation of a driver safety program not only provides us with an opportunity to engage our drivers, but also to correct the root cause behavioral risks that lead to accidents and incidents. Whether willful or habitual, correction cannot be made without an effective platform or workflow. A driver coaching initiative assists in making drivers cognisant of the risks associated with willful driving behaviors and fundamentally aware of the habitual behaviors they have accumulated throughout their years of driving.

The driver should lie at the core of any business that operates vehicles, as the impact of their decisions can affect us all, either negatively or positively. It is not always operational tasks that contain the highest risk. A simple task such as getting to and from your place of work are far too often taken for granted. Whether transporting yourself or others, getting home safely is the goal.

DriveRisk provide Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) which provide a comprehensive Driver Safety Program encompassing Driver Behaviour, Fatigue Management and Collision Avoidance technologies. ADAS lies at the forefront of ensuring that the overall safety and alertness of drivers are monitored and sustained.

DriveRisk tools actively monitor and manage the behavioural risks that are the root cause of risky behaviour and collisions. Immediate benefits can be had from these technologies; however, the rectification and sustainability of behavioural change management can only be achieved through ongoing and constructive engagements with the individual responsible – the driver.
