Broadband Infraco, Seacom in public-private partnership
Broadband Infraco and Seacom have partnered to pursue public–private sector collaboration for installation, support and maintenance; infrastructure hosting and disaster recovery centres; and shared passive and active infrastructure projects in the telecommunications sector.
The partnership promotes much-needed public-private sector collaboration towards efficient and cost-effective deployment of infrastructure in the sector.
“Our collaboration with Seacom will stand us in good stead in ensuring that we provide market-ready products and services and a seamless experience to our customers and partners,” says Broadband Infraco CEO Andrew Matseke.
Seacom group CEO Oliver Fortuin adds that the partnership will foster joint actions and collaborative efforts to enter, negotiate and win competitive bids which will enable both parties to implement their respective electronic communications network infrastructure projects and to ensure integrated long-term planning.
Both Seacom and Broadband Infraco, in the normal course of their respective businesses, are actively involved in the roll-out of electronic communications network infrastructure including fibre and wireless installation and maintenance.
“This is important as both companies can leverage resources and scale to deliver the most competitive offering in the market,” the companies said in a statement.
The special focus areas will be the development of the small, medium-sized and microenterprises market, particularly women-owned, in order to position them for servicing both the private and public service.
