Compact water solutions for urban spaces
With an increased incidence of water outages, harvesting of rainwater and water storage tanks have become a popular option for South African households.
Townhouse and cluster complexes are seeking compact, versatile and unobtrusive water harvesting and storage solutions for areas with limited space, says South African water tank manufacturer JoJo.
“One of the trends seen in the real estate market in the last few years is the increasing demand by buyers and renters for off-the-grid and back-up solutions,” said JoJo sales and marketing executive Sebasti Badenhorst. “There is a greater desire to take responsibility in ensuring a consistent supply of water for the home, and also an awareness of being kinder to the environment.”
While water tanks are suitable for larger homes, there are now also solutions available for those who live in smaller townhouses.
“We are probably best known for our bigger JoJo Tanks, from 5 000 l to 20 000 l, but many South Africans simply do not have the space for those, and that was why we produced the Slimline range,” said Badenhorst.
The 1 000 l SuperSlim tank is the most compact of the Slimline range and is specifically designed for urban dwelling spaces, where limited space requires a snug fit into corners or down narrow walkways. It can be attached to a wall, to help ensure that it is securely fitted. Designed for ease of use, the tank has various connection options and is supplied with the accessories required for installation.
JoJo notes that it recently simplified its Slimline range into one standard format to suit a range of applications.
“Townhouses are a significant part of the rental market,” said Badenhorst. “The Slimline range can be installed with some simple DIY, and, if you are renting or selling, it can be removed and taken to your new premises when you move. It’s compact, versatile and provides enough water for a family during those times when they need it most, or to supplement their municipal water usage.”
The SuperSlim tank has a 10-year warranty, features distinctive designs on both sides and is available in a variety of colours.
