Industrial service provider Dickinson Group of Companies (DGC) has emerged as a trusted industry leader in asset integrity management and has recently entered into two distribution agreements with industrial maintenance companies Technofink and MAXepoxy, adding to its complete range of industrial solutions.

DGC CEO Trevor Dickinson says that, with a wide range of corrosion protection solutions, the company can offer reliable strategies to combat the damaging effects of corrosion on critical assets across Africa.

By partnering with Technofink, DGC offers tailored corrosion solutions for various industries. Its “state-of-the-art” coatings, inhibitors and advanced technologies provide robust and long-lasting protection against corrosion in harsh environments.

According to Dickinson, DGC Africa works closely with clients, “allowing them to understand their unique challenges and recommending suitable coating solutions for pipelines, storage tanks, valves and other critical components”.

He notes that rust inhibitors form a protective layer on metal surfaces, reducing the risk of corrosion-related damage, stating that, by implementing these corrosion control measures, businesses will benefit from extended equipment life, reduced maintenance costs, enhanced efficiency and improved safety.

In addition to corrosion control, Dickinson says that plants should also think about comprehensive repair and rehabilitation services for deteriorated concrete structures. At DGC Africa, skilled technicians use advanced methodologies and high-performance materials to restore integrity and strength, and repairs can go from minor ones to extensive rehabilitation.

He says that by effectively addressing cracks and other forms of damage, it “will improve the assets structural integrity and extend its life span”.

“DGC proactively identifies and mitigates underlying causes of deterioration, developing tailored solutions that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.”

The second agreement, with MAXepoxy, meanwhile, provides DGC Africa with access to cold-welding type polymer products that rebuild, repair and protect equipment and structures.

Using cold-welding polymers provides exceptional durability, high strength and superior adhesion, protecting equipment and structures from abrasion, chemical attacks and mechanical stress.

“These linings, coatings, adhesives and sealants provide long-lasting protection and extend equipment life span. They are suitable for various surfaces, including pipes, tanks, valves, floors and walls. In prioritising the use of abrasion, chemical and mechanical-resistant linings, businesses improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime and save costs,” Dickinson explains, adding that “this technology is ideal for use in harsh mining conditions where structures and equipment are often exposed to corrosion, abrasion and chemical attacks”.

Sealing, Repair

Leakage in pipelines, valves and storage tanks is a serious concern for industries, as it can lead to substantial financial losses, environmental harm and safety hazards.

DGC Africa recognises the gravity of this issue and offers comprehensive online leak sealing and storage tank repair services to address and mitigate these risks.

The online leak sealing services are designed to seal leaks swiftly and effectively in pipelines, valves and other equipment without the need for costly shutdowns or interruptions to production.

Dickinson explains that corrosion prevention and repair technologies have become increasingly important when it comes to the maintenance of industrial equipment and plant infrastructure.

“Corrosion can be a particularly costly and persistent problem for many industries, especially those in harsh environments such as mining and chemical processing,” he notes, adding that, considering this, the technology “protects equipment and structures from the damaging effects of corrosion, extends their life span, and reduces the need for costly repairs and replacements”.

“It is evident that businesses can improve their equipment reliability and performance, reduce costs, comply with regulations and safety standards, and have a positive impact on the environment by investing in measures for repair and corrosion control,” Dickinson concludes.
