Kgabo Noria Moloto
General Manager at FWGR

Main activity of company: To provide a safe, healthy environment that supports efficient production by ensuring resources are available and downtime is minimised for maximum profitability.
Date and place of birth: 30 April 1980, in Polokwane
Education: BTech Degree in Engineering Metallurgy and MMDP from Gordon Institute of Business Science
Management style: I like to motivate, encourage and empower the team so that we all understand the company’s objective, thus making it easy to work together to achieve common goals.
Personal best achievement: While at Driefontein mine, I was seconded to a metallurgical plant facing declines in safety, maintenance and production. Working with the team, we realigned objectives, addressed shortcomings, and within six months reversed the negative trend, restoring motivation and pride.
Person you would most like to meet: Professor Thuli Madonsela for her contribution to the law and social justice in South Africa.
Philosophy of life: Success comes from small, consistent efforts and always showing up, no matter the challenges.
Message for other women leaders: Encourage and support women’s voices in business. Let’s continue building each other up and making sure women are heard in every industry.

Mpho Mashatola
Senior Finance Executive

Main activity of company: Gold surface retreatment operations in Gauteng
Date and place of birth: 17 June 1990, in Johannesburg
Education: Bachelor of Accounting Science and a Higher Diploma in Accountancy; Chartered Accountant of South Africa; Post graduate certificate in Mining Tax
Management style: I believe in empowering people to deliver quality work and achieving their full potential.
Personal best achievement: I don’t have a specific one. My achievement is being able to be consistent in the work that I do and the leadership I provide to my teams.
Person you would most like to meet: Right now it is Hanre Rossouw, he started off as a metallurgist and became CFO of Royal Bafokeng Platinum and later on Sasol. I think that’s a great story.
Philosophy of life: Always keep moving forward, no matter the setbacks or disappointments along the way. I was raised in a family where respect and humility towards everyone—regardless of their background or status—were fundamental values, instilled in us from childhood. These principles remain deeply important to me.
Message for other women leaders: We have a responsibility towards ourselves and other women to work hard, to deliver and challenge ourselves to be good leaders as well as build our careers so that we can be seen. Inspire people by the work you do, so that in years to come, business can be revolutionised from being male-dominated to being rightfully diverse. We need to believe in ourselves and our capabilities by being respectful, humble and patient.

Henriette Hooijer
CFO designate

Main activity of the company: Surface gold mine
Date and place of birth: 22 September 1980, in Kuruman in the Northern Cape
Education: Chartered Accountant (SA)
Management style: I have an inclusive management style. I enjoy coaching and collaborating with people. I believe that people will perform better if they are motivated and understand why they are doing something and what the end goal is.
Personal best achievement: Being involved as one of the core team members in the acquisition of Far West Gold Recoveries and then being part of the management team starting up the operations and overseeing the capital projects to enable this operation to be sustainable.
Person you would most like to meet: If he was still alive, I would have loved to meet Nelson Mandela. His leadership style and qualities of forgiveness, humility and seeing and striving for the big picture or end goal, is something that I strive towards.
Philosophy of life: I was brought up in a house that instilled the values that everyone around us deserves respect and that what we say is what we do. Another one that my dad firmly believed in is that hard work pays off and that you have to earn respect. I have always strived to [uphold] these values.
Message for other women leaders: I am proud to be a woman in the mining industry. My message to women out there, is work hard and work smart and make sure that your voice is being heard. Believe in yourself.
