To achieve enhanced equipment performance on a continuous basis by reducing the level of contamination in fluids and fuel, adoption of efficient filtration and contamination control is highly essential for any industry.

For over one hundred years, Donaldson has been a leader in the design and manufacturing of filtration products and solutions for fluids such as Hydraulic, Liquid and Clean Fuel (Diesel, Petrol and Lubricant Oils). Donaldson, industry leaders in filtration technology, has been investing heavily in purification systems that reduce the total cost of equipment ownership while increasing profit margins.

While the company has been pulling out all the stops to deliver the best possible filtration technology, Donaldson General Manager: Engine Cameron Diesel admits, it is not always smooth sailing.

One of the challenges in the chemical industry is the need for enterprises to meet high technology requirements on the one hand, as well as the need to comply with stringent laws and regulations on environmental protection on the other. Another major challenge according to Diesel is the general lack of awareness on the benefits of proper filtration.

Despite the hurdles, Donaldson ensures that customers make the most of the benefits of its products through, amongst other measures, proper product training and installation of filter solutions on a trial basis which is paramount, thereby proving features and benefits.
In terms of raising environmental consciousness, Diesel posits that government partners with industry players to improve and enforce policies around emissions standards and regulations.

Thus far, Donaldson is developing the next generation products to solve complex filtration and contamination control challenges. This augurs well with future trends: demand for filtration products is set to rise between 2017 and 2030 as industry consciousness about the operational and environmental benefits of filtration grows.
