Filtration group CLARCOR Engine Mobile Group released over 250 filtration products in the first half of this year.

“We firmly believe that to be the best; we have to offer a wide range of quality filtration products. We continue to develop products that will meet the needs not only of customers’ engine-powered equipment, but also of their business,” says the CLARCOR Engine Mobile Group product director Steve Zimmerman.

Notably, in October, filter manufacturer Baldwin Filters, a subsidiary of the CLARCOR Group, launched its BD5000 lube filter, which ensures a longer operating life and higher performance for modern engines.

The new filter provides superior protection against wear and extends the life of wear parts, while lowering restriction at cold-start by up to 40% to improve flow and reduce wear. Superior reinforcement, moreover, ensures durability and prevents contaminant leaks.

Baldwin filters are also routinely tested beyond industry standards, ensuring reliable performance under the toughest conditions.

“I am excited to release the BD5000 to our customers. Through a collaborative effort between resources at filtration company CLARCOR’s innovation centre and CLARCOR Engine Mobile Group, we have developed a high-quality filter that keeps with the rich tradition of quality and performance that Baldwin’s customers have come to expect,” says CLARCOR Engine Mobile Group research and development VP Farrell Calcaterra.

Baldwin also introduced the CA30102 Channel Flow EXO air filter in July, which is the first aftermarket air filter to replace the P611698 OE filter for truck manufacturer Kenworth’s T440, T470, T660 and T800 models.

The CA30102 uses Baldwin’s proprietary Channel Flow EXO technology and, as a result, the CA30102 is as durable as it is efficient, surpassing previous models in its ability to protect heavy-duty engines under the most extreme working conditions.

Like all Baldwin-manufactured filters, the CA30102 meets strict quality standards. “Not only are Baldwin filters tested above and beyond industry standards, but our manufacturing processes also exceed 6 Sigma standards, guaranteeing that every filter will meet our customers’ high expectations for durability and performance,” stresses CLARCOR Engine Mobile Group operations VP Stefan Polywka.

Baldwin highlights that, as just a small amount of contaminant can destroy an engine, it is important to have the right air filter. “Baldwin Filter’s Channel Flow EXO air filters are the best protection for hard working trucks.”

Baldwin’s new Channel Flow EXO air filter technology, which was also launched in July, takes the unique fluted media design of channel flow air filters and combines it with new, proprietary technology. The result is a compact air filter line that allows for design flexibility and is both highly durable and efficient.

The unprecedented filter design uses patent-pending reinforcement techniques to ensure the media remains securely in place and undamaged and protects the engine throughout the entire life cycle of the filter. The Channel Flow EXO’s unique design also allows for more media surface area, accurate and secure installation and rugged protection.

“We are excited to bring this advanced technology to the marketplace. By improving on an already outstanding filter design, we can provide the best protection for today’s high-performing, cleaner-running engines,” says Zimmerman.

In rigorous testing, Channel Flow EXO air filters demonstrated extreme structural integrity and consistently survived extreme conditions with no signs of damage or media distortion, while comparable filters failed less than halfway into the life of the test.

In initial efficiency tests, Channel Flow EXO air filters outperformed the competition by a wide margin and further testing proved that, over the filter’s life, the design surpassed all other aftermarket filters.

Baldwin Filters operates manufacturing and distribution centres in the US, Mexico, the UK, Belgium, China, Morocco, Australia and South Africa, and has expanded its distribution networks in South America, Russia and the Middle East.

Baldwin Filters has a head office, warehouse and production facility in Cape Town, with an additional distribution warehouse and sales office in Johannesburg and a satellite sales office in Durban. Penetration of the South African market is achieved predominantly through a network of independently owned distributors; however, Baldwin also markets itself to major end-users, such as government and mining entities. The company’s South African operation also assumes responsibility for marketing and distribution into other African countries where the company is established.

Filter manufacturer Baldwin Filters has also produced a new brochure focusing on some of the most recent products, including crankcase breathers, lube, fuel and air filters, and the applications they fit. The brochure is available online or by request.
