Name of the Project
Fipango solar PV project.

Location
Village of Fipango, in the territory of Kipushi, in the province of Haut-Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Project Owner/s
Soleos Energy, in partnership with Melci Holdings.

The project will be executed under a 25-year power purchase agreement with Société Nationale d'Électricité, or SNEL.

Project Description
The project will provide clean, reliable electricity for more than one-million residents while reducing carbon emissions and supporting the DRC’s economic growth.

The 200 MW solar PV project will generate about 350-million kilowatt-hours of electricity a year, reducing the amount of CO2 emissions by 300 000 t/y.

Potential Job Creation
About 2 000 jobs are expected to be created during construction and more than 500 permanent jobs during operation, providing significant employment opportunities in the local economy.

Capital Expenditure
$200-million.

Planned Start/End Date
The project is scheduled for completion by late 2025.
