Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has congratulated Ulrike Britton, Ogalaletseng Gaarekwe and Christopher Axelson on their appointment as deputy directors-general (DDGs) in the Department of National Treasury.

Britton has been appointed DDG for Public Finance, Gaarekwe DDG for Intergovernmental Relations and Axelson DDG for Tax and Financial Sector Policy.

The appointments were officially announced by Cabinet on May 29.

These strategic appointments represent a significant milestone in the department's commitment to maintaining institutional stability, while fostering innovation and fresh perspectives.

"It is essential that the department demonstrates strong leadership and stability while continuing to develop a pipeline of talented and dedicated public service professionals committed to serving our nation.

"These appointments reflect our ongoing investment in building capacity and ensuring continuity in our critical work," Godongwana comments.
