Filtration solutions provider Donaldson Company’s hydrogen dryer serves as an advanced solution for drying hydrogen gas by removing contaminants such as water vapour and impurities, improving system performance and efficiency.

Donaldson debuted its hydrogen dryer, along with showcasing other future-focused technologies in industrial gas and alternative power, at the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe 2024, in Hamburg, Germany, on October 23 and 24.

Aligned with the growing importance of hydrogen in sustainable energy and industrial applications, the Donaldson hydrogen dryer assists in improving efficiency and reliability of systems, the company says, adding that the unit offers energy-efficient operation without compromising on filtration ability.

Further, the unit’s compact system, with a scalable design, makes it suitable for a range of applications, from small-scale systems to large industrial operations.

“Donaldson has a long-standing commitment to providing innovative solutions that address the needs of clean energy and industrial applications,” says Donaldson Industrial Gases special gases product manager Sabine Artuso.

Alongside the hydrogen dryer, Donaldson exhibited industrial high-pressure housings and filter elements for various applications.

Powering Forward
Donaldson also presented a range of alternative power technologies for hydrogen fuel cell and battery electric vehicle applications, alongside demonstrating new technologies for alternative-fuel-powered internal combustion engines.

The company’s latest fuel filtration products are designed to “advance the next generation of transport solutions”, while assisting customers in maintaining high productivity levels, with the aim of further reducing the sector’s dependence on fossil fuels.

Donaldson’s innovations in diesel-alternative fuel filtration technologies aim to enhance operational efficiency and longevity. Further, the company’s venting solutions support customers in their environmental commitments and compliance with regulations.

Expanded Network
The company also announced the opening of its newest distribution centre in Olive Branch, Mississippi, in the US, last month. The new facility aims to further strengthen Donaldson’s ability to meet growing customer demand in the mobile solutions aftermarket business. These include the heavy-duty trucking, construction, mining and agricultural equipment sector.

The Olive Branch distribution centre will add about 18 580 m² of additional warehousing space to Donaldson’s distribution centre footprint.

The company asserts that the new facility will provide “the necessary room for the growth of the business” while also providing the opportunity to further enhance the capabilities at the primary distribution centre in Rensselaer, Indiana, in the US.

The combined capabilities will enable more responsive service to customers and reinforces Donaldson’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, Donaldson stated.

“Our industry-leading fill rates have been a cornerstone of Donaldson’s success in serving the mobile solutions aftermarket,” said Donaldson US and Canada Aftermarket mobile solutions VP Angela Zurick.

The addition of this new distribution centre further enhances the company’s ability to deliver products with speed and reliability, ensuring that customers experience minimal downtime and improved productivity, she said.

“We are building on our reputation for unparalleled product availability, ensuring that our customers continue to receive the parts and filters they need, when they need them,” Zurick concluded.
