Hydrogen safety and hazardous areas conference
Hydrogen Safety and Hazardous Areas Conference hosted by IDC Technologies to be held from 4th to 5th December 2023
The Engineering Institute of Technology's (EIT) sister company, IDC Technologies, will host the inaugural Hydrogen Safety & Hazardous Areas Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. This location holds particular significance as the country is committed to establishing itself as a globally attractive destination for hydrogen development.
The conference is particularly timely given South Africa's current power supply challenges, highlighting the need for more resilient and decentralised energy solutions. By promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration, the Hydrogen Safety & Hazardous Areas Conference can help accelerate the adoption of safe and sustainable energy solutions in South Africa and beyond.
The Hydrogen Safety & Hazardous Areas Conference aims to create a practical and technical forum for showcasing best practices, cutting-edge technologies, and advancements in standards and regulations for hydrogen safety and hazardous areas. The conference acknowledges that unlocking the full potential of hydrogen requires a comprehensive understanding of the associated safety challenges and risks. It provides a crucial forum to address these concerns head-on.
The conference will cover various aspects, including hydrogen production, processing, transportation, utilisation, stakeholder safety, equipment damage prevention, and environmental protection.
