Global imaging technologies company Canon has appointed Southern African technology distributor Tarsus Distribution as an authorised supplier of its business-to-consumer (B2C) product range across the Southern African Development Community.

The partnership aims to enhance availability and support for imaging and printing solutions across the region, providing resellers with new business opportunities.

Tarsus Distribution will now distribute Canon’s Pixma, Maxify, and i-Sensys printers and associated consumables. The products cater to a variety of consumers, from home users and small businesses to students and professionals.

Canon says its printers are designed to deliver high-quality output and durability. The brand’s focus on sustainability includes energy-efficient technology and water-based inks that help reduce environmental impact.

Tarsus Distribution will provide resellers with sales training, marketing support, and after-sales services and will roll out regional launch events and training sessions to assist its channel partners to develop sales and marketing tools.

“Leveraging Tarsus Distribution’s extensive reseller networks, this partnership marks a turning point for the availability of Canon’s comprehensive portfolio of quality printing solutions,” said Canon South Africa sales and marketing director: B2C Carel Liebenberg.

The agreement also aims to open up new revenue streams for resellers to bundle printers with laptops and accessories, targeted at meeting the demands of the entry-level, home office and small-business market.
