Improved parts supply for leisure vehicles
A more streamlined and efficient system of ordering parts and spares for leisure vehicles, golf carts, turf and landscaping equipment has been developed, with the introduction of high-tech logistics systems including AI modelling.
Smith Power Equipment parts manager: leisure and landscaping division Andre Coetzee says the company is endeavouring to ensure fast turnaround times for spares and parts for the range of brands under its wing, which include Toro turf care machines, Club Car golf and utility carts, offroad and recreational vehicles from Polaris and Linhai quad bikes.
Coetzee says the company is addressing logistical challenges, including rising freight costs, by utilising advanced systems and AI technologies that forecast demand and manage inventory. The operational strategy aims to streamline the supply chain to ensure parts are readily available across the country.
“The use of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts is central to the reliability and performance of our equipment and through interactions with customers we are able to show them that while OEM parts may come at a higher cost compared to non-OEM alternatives, their superior performance and longevity provide better value and reliability in the long term,” Coetzee explains.
He add that ensuring high parts availability helps reduce customer downtime and increases customer satisfaction by minimising delays.
