Doppelmayr has awarded Innomotics GmbH with a contract to supply the complete electric and automation system for the Systems Technology Project – part of the overall AirTrain Newark Replacement Program – for a new automated people mover (APM) at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey (USA). The order includes design, engineering, supply and start-up of the automatic train control (ATC), audio, video and communication systems, power distribution systems, the ropeway propulsion equipment and the guideway, station, train & maintenance equipment.

This pioneering project will be implemented by Innomotics' Austrian branch, which has been appointed to serve as headquarter for the automated people mover business, supported by Innomotics US.

Innomotics and Doppelmayr share a deep and long-standing partnership. Over the past 20 years, more than 10 joint reference projects have been successfully completed. The newly signed contract positions Innomotics as a named subcontractor in the deal between Doppelmayr and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) for the Systems Technology Project within the overall AirTrain Newark Replacement Program.

The new AirTrain will cover a four-kilometer (2.5-mile) route and serve millions of passengers a year as the primary means of transport between three passenger terminals, parking and rental car facilities as well as regional rail transit links. The new AirTrain is scheduled to transport air travelers Page 2 of 3

sustainably, reliably, autonomously, and safely across the airport starting in 2030. The AirTrain will run 24 hours a day, placing highest demands on the reliability and sustainability of the electric and automation systems.

“We are proud to partner with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the development of the new AirTrain Newark. With Innomotics we have a trusted supplier at our side that has proven its reliability and innovational strength in previous joint projects”, said Markus Schrentewein, CEO of Doppelmayr Cable Car GmbH.

Dieter Schletterer, CEO of Innomotics Austria: “This project marks an important milestone for Innomotics. The demand for sustainable and automated transportation solutions is increasing worldwide. At airports in particular, passengers need a solution that works reliably 24/7. Innomotics has the experience and innovative strength to ensure this.”

The AirTrain Newark Replacement Program is a critical component of the EWR Vision Plan, a roadmap to transform Newark Liberty International Airport into a world-class facility. The Vision Plan will build on the success of the acclaimed New Terminal A while integrating with ongoing projects, such as the AirTrain Newark replacement and the Newark Station Access Project, to improve transportation access to the airport.
