JDA appoints new board members
The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) has appointed a new chairperson Julias Maputla, new nonexecutive directors and new members of its independent audit committee.
The new board members bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will be instrumental in guiding the agency’s strategic initiatives and its mission to drive sustainable urban development and economic growth in Johannesburg, the JDA says.
Daliwe Olifant, Mally Mokoena, Mongezi Ntanga, Morwesi Ramonyai, Vukile Hlongwa, Siyabonga Masiza, Tshepo Nawane, Boitumelo Molelekeng, Nomakhosazana Veyi, and Thabo Sibeko were appointed as nonexecutive directors.
Additionally, Winnie Yawa, Ellen Rakodi, Dalton Ramaoma, and Oupa Galane were appointed as members of the JDA's independent audit committee.
“The JDA plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Johannesburg. With the new board members on board, we are confident in our ability to achieve our ambitious goals for the city’s growth and development,” says City of Johannesburg Development Planning MMC Eunice Mgcina.
“The new appointments are a testament to our commitment to excellence and innovation in urban development. We look forward to our new board members' fresh perspectives and dynamic leadership,” says JDA CEO Themba Mathibe.
As the custodian of Johannesburg's capital infrastructure projects, the JDA is committed to driving positive change and fostering inclusive growth throughout the city.
JDA's board and management will collaborate to realise the JDA's mission in planning, implementing, managing and facilitating area-based developments in efficient, equitable, sustainable and innovative ways, he says.
