Project Owner/s
Renewable-energy solutions provider Scatec (50.9%), Stanlib Infrastructure Fund (through Greenstreet platform) (46.5%), and a community trust holding 2.6%.

Project Description
The project consists of three large-scale solar PV facilities – Oslaagte Solar 2 (293 MW), Oslaagte Solar 3 (293 MW) and Leeuwspruit Solar (260 MW) – with a combined capacity of 846 MW.

The projects were selected as preferred bidders under the seventh round of South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme, or REIPPPP, following the reallocation of capacity from wind 
to solar.

Once operational, the plants will supply renewable electricity under 20-year power purchase agreements.

Capital Expenditure
Estimated at R13-billion (about $735-million). Up to 90% of the cost will be funded through nonrecourse debt, with the remainder covered by equity from project shareholders.

Planned Start/End Date
Financial close and construction are anticipated to start in 2026.
