Components packages in marketing stage
POUCHLESS HOLDER The product is designed for attaching control documentation to bins, crates and racking in diverse industries.
The Marken range label holder, used to hold documentation on component boxes and stillage in the automotive sector, is actively being marketed, says custom designer and manufacturer of packaging systems Conceptainer MD Ken Mouritzen.
He says it is a robust and durable pouchless label holder to attach control documentation to bins, crates and racking, in not only the automotive sector but also diverse industries such as warehousing, distribution, racking, labelling and transport trailers.
“The reusable holder is designed to prevent data inaccuracies and is easy to clean, whether by machine or a high-pressure washer. It is a cost-efficient method of attaching documentation to the packaging of automotive components,” Mouritzen adds.
He notes that the conventional means of fixing control documentation – using adhesive cards or clear pouches – is often unsightly, uneconomical and has a short operational life span. The Marken range holders are high- impact resistant and unaffected by ultraviolet rays. They have been designed for the nonabsorption of contaminants, with an extended service life, even in tough environments.
According to Mouritzen, the system replaces conventional packaging tape to fix control documentation to rotor-moulded bins, canvas and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material containers. He recommends using the Marken range as an alternative to PVC pouches presently used to fix control documentation to bins and plastic crates.
He says the label holder is developed to any required size, and manufactured from either high-density polyethylene or high-impact polystyrene so that it can be recycled.
The label holder is also hygienic because it is made from polypropylene which does not attract dirt and is washable. “Conventional pouches easily disfigure and tear over time. The adhesive residue retained on the conventional pouch when it is removed gathers dirt,” Mouritzen explains.
He says the Marken label holders allow for horizontal and vertical movement of packaging when labels are in position. By inverting the label holder, it accommodates A4 sheets vertically and enables scanners to read card information easily.
The system is attached using self-tapping screws or blind rivets, which fixes the holder securely to a bin through the locating holes provided. Backing plates or washers can be used to fix the holder to canvas and PVC stillages. Cable ties are recommended for fixing these holders to steel cage and steel frame stillages.
Mouritzen says holders and clips are available in specified corporate colours, which enhance the company’s brands.
By trimming the vertical chamfered edges of the holder, the range is adaptable to suit most packaging designs.
Mouritzen concludes that the system ensures safe and reliable material protection during logistical transport.
