Modular solutions for the mining, quarrying, construction and recycling industries
Modular design and implementation aims to limit capital expenditure and reduce wasteful expenditure by selecting only the components required for a specific application.
The concept is especially applicable to so-called just-in-time manufacturing, which is geared towards making just what is needed, when it is needed and only in the amount that is needed.
Modular design allows individual units to be selected and interlinked with conveyors. Solutions can be tailored to specific needs and sites and can also be modified if requirements are changed during the design process. Once a design is defined, the modules and individual components are sent to site, lifted into place and bolted together, with the option of adding modules as required.
Modular solutions may be particularly useful for small enterprises that aim to grow the business, while maintaining sustainability.
Modular plants are scalable and cater for a variety of companies, irrespective of size or application. Solutions are available for manufacturing processes from 10 t an hour to 500 t an hour, with the option of adding units as production increases.
Pilot Crushtec and machine manufacturer Metso have joined to develop the modular plant concept, using components that come with a five-year or 10 000-hour extended equipment protection services warranty.
The concept was developed specifically for the mining, quarrying, construction and recycling sectors as they are seen as particularly dynamic industries that require agility, adaptability and access to on-demand plug-and-play components.
The modular concept offers a client-centred approach, with the ability to custom design a plant using off-the-shelf components and scale it according to changing needs and environments.
