NADA elects new leadership
The National Automobile Dealers' Association (NADA) has appointed Brandon Cohen as its new national chairperson, with Thembinkosi Pantsi elected as the new national vice-chairperson.
Cohen, who works for a JSE-listed auto giant, is a legal and compliance expert.
He succeeds Mark Dommisse who stepped down as chairperson to pursue a new automotive venture in Jamaica.
“Brandon brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role, with a remarkable background in academia and an extensive track record in the automotive industry,” says NADA in a statement.
“Throughout his tenure on various committees at NADA, including the national executive committee, management committee, transformation committee, motor retailers’ forum, and public relations committee, he has been a steadfast advocate for dealers, skilfully negotiating with government bodies, regulators, financiers and other stakeholders on their behalf.”
“As Brandon assumes the role of national chairperson, we are confident that his visionary leadership, unmatched expertise, and unwavering commitment to the industry will usher NADA into a bright future,” says NADA national director Gary McCraw.
Thembinkosi Pantsi is currently the dealer principal at Hatfield Audi Braamfontein.
“I’m super excited to be able to fulfil my dream of serving at the highest level in the retail automotive industry,” says Pantsi.
“I’m honoured and grateful at my election as national vice-chairperson."
NADA, with almost 1 500 members, represents the majority of franchised motor dealers in South Africa.
The country has around 1 600 franchised automotive dealerships providing direct employment to 58 000 people.
