Osisko appoints Quin to board
NYSE- and TSX-V-listed Osisko Development has announced the appointment of veteran mining executive Stephen Quin to its board of directors, effective immediately.
Quin brings over four decades of mining industry experience, spanning exploration, operations, and mine closure. His most recent role was a decade-long tenure as president and CEO of Midas Gold, now Perpetua Resources, where he advanced a significant gold/antimony project from an initial resource estimate through to the completion of a feasibility study.
Before Midas Gold, Quin held several senior leadership roles, including president and COO of Capstone Mining and, prior to its merger with Capstone, president and CEO of Sherwood Copper.
"On behalf of the entire board, we are delighted to welcome a director of Stephen's calibre, and a veteran of the mining sector, to the board of directors of Osisko Development," said founder, chairperson, and CEO Sean Roosen.
"Through his prior roles, Mr Quin has demonstrated a strong commitment to responsible mine development and operation, while maximizing shareholder value. Notably, he was responsible for successfully permitting, funding, and constructing the Minto copper/gold mine in Yukon, Canada, which was completed on time and budget."
Roosen emphasised Quin’s importance to Osisko’s plans for its flagship Cariboo project. "Stephen's comprehensive track record and diverse industry exposure through practically all facets of the mining cycle - from discovery to operation - make him an invaluable asset as we advance Cariboo toward construction. His appointment reflects strong confidence in the quality of the Cariboo project and its potential to become one of Canada's next large-scale gold mines," he said.
Quin’s expertise spans more than 30 studies in the copper and gold sectors, covering mineral resource estimates, preliminary economic assessments, and feasibility studies. He also brings extensive permitting, mine financing, development, operational, and closure experience.
From a governance perspective, Quin has served on and chaired numerous boards and committees, leading initiatives to enhance governance frameworks.
