Schneider Electric welcomes Tanya Ramlagan as Vice President of Human Resources for Anglophone Africa

Schneider Electric, the world’s most sustainable companyand leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tanya Ramlagan as Vice President, Human Resources for Anglophone Africa.

With over 18 years of experience, including 16 years at the general manager and executive level, Ramlagan a is a seasoned business professional. Her career spans roles such as Executive: People and Culture at EOH, Head of HR and Training at Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa and General Manager Human Resources for BMW South Africa.

Her extensive background across the hospitality, mining, and manufacturing sectors has equipped her with broad-based business experience, specialist HR expertise, and proven learning agility that has allowed her to thrive across diverse industries.

In her new role, Ramlagan will drive Schneider Electric’s HR strategy for Anglophone Africa, focusing on building a strong local talent pipeline, embedding the Schneider employer brand across Africa, driving strategies around female and early career participation in the workforce and sustainable organisational growth across the region. 

Schneider Electric was recently recognised by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as a Lighthouse in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Additionally, Bloomberg included Schneider Electric in its  Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for the company's commitment to equality, while the Financial Times recently named it a Leader in Diversity.

Reflecting on her journey so far at Schneider Electric, she says: "My time at Schneider Electric has been filled with learning, opportunities to make a meaningful impact, and experiences including market visits, HR Round Tables, and meeting many new colleagues. It has been an exciting time indeed.

“As a new employee it has been an absolute pleasure to arrive and find that the employee value proposition articulated through the selection process to be very much alive within the business,” she notes.

Ramlagan holds an Honours degree in Social Science, Psychology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, forming the foundation of her impressive HR career.
