Cement producer PPC has received approval from the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (Comesa) for the disposal of its 51% interest in Rwandan cement producer Cimerwa to National Cement for a cash consideration of $42.5-million.

The transaction closed on January 25 and the disposal consideration was received in full, PPC said in a statement to shareholders.

Comesa's approval was, however, also needed to complete the transaction.
