Johannesburg-headquartered Ramjack Technology Solutions, a specialised system integrator for advanced technologies in the mining industry, has expanded its international presence with new West African headquarters in Accra, Ghana.

Ramjack has been serving the mining market across this minerals-rich sector for over a decade, and has opened an official office location to better support existing mining customers.

The local team of 22 Ramjack staff members currently serves nine large projects, supporting hundreds of technology applications for mobile equipment, as well as mines in the region using its remote operations centers (rROC) and artificial intelligence laboratory (rAIL) services.

“West Africa plays a significant role in the global mining market, as home to vast bodies of minerals and metals,” says Ramjack Technology Solutions CEO Mike Jackson.

“We are proud that our activities in the region are supporting the global supply of critical metals and minerals. “We have both customers and team members in all corners of the region – including leading producers such as Ghana, Mali and Guinea – and we are glad to be contributing to growth and development both locally and globally.”

“Our team is fully dedicated to serving this region and bolstering its important contribution to the global supply chain of essential raw materials,” adds Ramjack VP for West Africa Kofi Dwomoh.

“Mining here has boomed significantly in the past decade, and to us it became critical to have an official headquarters to help us better serve customers with safety and productivity applications.

“We are thrilled to be helping the mines in West Africa continue to enhance productivity through technology integration as a service.”

The office will continue to build Ramjack’s prominence as a one-of-a-kind strategic service provider, allowing access to global energy and mineral resources, leveraged by its operational technology strategies to solve some of mining’s biggest challenges.

The company kicked off the official announcement of the office grand opening celebration in June, with a visit from Jackson and Dwomoh.

Ramjack’s flagship rROC and rAIL offerings are designed to improve productivity, safety and sustainability of mines by increasing value generated by their real-time systems.

The rROC is a collaborative programme that provides 24/7 real-time monitoring of mission-critical production and safety systems for mines. Using Ramjack’s specialised mining technology experts, the programme operates from a dedicated integrated remote operations facility equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Through a series of proprietary processes and workflows, rROC aims to enhance the performance of key indicators for both openpit and underground mining operations. Offered as a full-time, contracted service, the programme optimises real- time production and safety systems through a continuous improvement process. This approach delivers results such as improved overall equipment effectiveness, reduced operational delays, increased productivity, reduced downtime, enhanced data quality, better safety performance, and improved operator behavior.

Ramjack’s rAIL is an evolution of the rROC and is an artificial intelligence lab that closes the digital optimisation loop by leveraging data and applying both human and machine intelligence to identify trends and develop processes. A team of computer scientists, data analysts and mining engineers is dedicated to studying data from a client’s mine technology systems to identify trends and show areas for improvements.
