Project Owner/s
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) will hold a majority 60% share in the project and serve as the lead developer and operator of the facility, while Shell, bp, Mitsui and TotalEnergies will each hold 10%.
Project Description
The project is set to be the first LNG export facility in the Middle East and Africa region to run on clean energy, making it one of the lowest-carbon intensity LNG plants in the world.
The facility will leverage AI and the latest technologies to enhance safety, minimise emissions and drive efficiency. The project will comprise two 4.8-million-tonne-a-year LNG liquefaction trains with a total capacity of 9.6-million tonnes a year.
The facility will have an electric-powered liquefaction system and will use access to a renewable-power supply.
