V&A appoints CEO designate
The board of directors of the V&A Waterfront has, following an extensive local and international search, appointed former Sun International hospitality COO Graham Wood as CEO designate to replace current CEO David Green who will be retiring in early 2026.
Under 17 years of Green’s "remarkable leadership", the V&A Waterfront achieved significant milestones to set it apart as the subcontinent’s number one most visited tourist destination and one of the country’s most successful public-private partnerships and mixed-use development properties.
Wood brings a wealth of experience in the property, hospitality and tourism industry, having held senior positions at both Sun International and Southern Sun, playing a leading role in the rejuvenation of its Sun City resort and improving the operating capability and profitability of its hotels, resorts and casinos.
The board is confident Wood will build on the strong foundation to lead the Waterfront on its next chapter of growth and innovation for the people of Cape Town and South Africa as well as the international tourism market and also wishes to extend its appreciation for Green’s "visionary and exemplary leadership" during his tenure.
