Save the date — Firexpo 2025 ignites innovation
This article has been supplied.
The fire safety of a building primarily relies on measures taken to prevent a fire from starting, as well as on the design, construction, and management strategies implemented to minimise fire spread if one occurs. Once a fire ignites, factors largely influencing its progression include the building’s design, construction materials, furnishings, ventilation methods, and the effectiveness of fire suppression systems.
Firexpo, being held at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 3 to 5 June 2025, aims to create a platform that assists individuals, communities, and businesses in finding fire detection solutions that will enhance personal safety and wellbeing.
“The Firexpo exhibitors provide multiple fire detection and prevention products and services focused on equipping occupants of buildings — residential and business — with the tools to mitigate the risks and outcome of fires. This includes fire and smoke detection technology (monitors, panels, and alarms), gas and explosion detection technology, fire suppression equipment, firefighting services, risk assessments, and emergency and disaster management,” says Mark Anderson, Portfolio Director at Specialised Exhibitions — a division of Montgomery Group.
Firexpo is co-located with Securex South Africa, A-OSH EXPO, and Facilities Management Expo, providing exhibitors at all four shows with the opportunity to interact with almost 11 000 visitors intent on finding various solutions.
“Building on the success of our free-to-attend seminar theatres at the other three co-located shows, we launched the Firexpo Seminar Theatre at the 2024 event. The free-to-attend three-day knowledge-sharing event featured current fire safety-specific subject matter and proved very popular with the visitors. The well-known one-day FPASA (Fire Protection Association of South Africa) InFIReS Seminar also shares interesting information on the fire industry.
