Electricity management and equipment company Schneider Electric has appointed Christophe Begat as Anglophone Africa Industry and Segment VP.

Begat has been at the helm of the company’s operations in countries including Iraq, Algeria, Singapore and, most recently, Nigeria overseeing the West African region. He has a career spanning 32 years at Schneider Electric.

In his new role, Begat will lead Schneider Electric’s Industry Automation and Software business in 24 countries within Anglophone Africa, where he will strategically manage its comprehensive range of industrial offers and software, driving innovation and commercial excellence throughout the region.

Further, he will lead the company’s Segments business, which includes energy and chemicals, mining, mineral and metals, water and wastewater, consumer packaged goods, and commercial and residential buildings.

“Driving digital transformation is a major expectation of our end-users. This will include evaluating the current digital landscape, aligning business strategy and leadership for this transformation. Further, careful consideration will be given to selecting the right digital technologies, defining a suitable team structure, and collaborating with our partners,” said Begat.

He also emphasised the importance of engaging with partners and customers. Schneider Electric’s Industry Automation and Segments business, under his leadership, will continue to provide training services, fostering a supportive environment, and staying in touch with the region’s evolving needs.

“Sustained success is not just about addressing immediate challenges, but also creating enduring partnerships and adding value to every interaction. It is an exciting journey, and we are committed to providing a positive impact in the industry,” Begat said.
