Seifsa calls for industrial companies to participate in climate readiness pilot programme
Industry organisation the Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (Seifsa) invites interested companies to submit expressions of interest to participate in a fully funded 2026 Climate Readiness Pilot Programme.
The programme is designed to support South African manufacturers to understand their greenhouse-gas emissions profile, build internal capability and prepare for emerging global climate-related compliance and competitiveness requirements.
The pilot programme will be delivered using the South African-developed Climate Fit Tool, which is an online platform that enables companies to input emissions-related data, develop a baseline and engage with structured technical support.
The technical and one-on-one project management support will be provided by Brundtland Consulting and Impact Strategy Consulting, Seifsa says.
All delivery partners will operate under Seifsa’s oversight and in accordance with contractual arrangements.
The programme is open to manufacturing companies in the metals and engineering and related industries that are interested in improving their understanding of emissions, strengthening internal capacity and participating in a structured climate readiness programme.
The programme is funded by business and employers' organisation Danish Industry (DI) in partnership with Seifsa.
Interested companies must complete an online expression of interest form. All companies that submit an expression of interest will be invited to a group information session, where Seifsa and the technical delivery partners will explain how the programme will work, what participation involves and the different levels of support that will be available.
Following the information session, companies will be asked to indicate their sense of readiness and level of support required. Thereafter, based on this process, a shortlist of participating companies will be confirmed, Seifsa explains.
