Sintech

26th September 2025

Font size: - +

Since 1984 Sintech has supplied the South African market with clutches, brakes and engineering solutions for a range of applications not only in mining and mining-related industries, but also the clean energy sector.

Electricity produced from wind is clean and renewable, and will assist in reducing the country’s reliance on coal-fired power generation. It does not consume water during the generation process and is a viable option for a renewable energy source in Southern Africa where water is a scarce resource.

Wind turbines, however, need reliable parts and regular maintenance. Sintech is in a unique position to offer full product support to the wind turbine market with an ISO 9001:2015 approved facility in Boksburg and factory trained technicians.

Sintech is the sole representative of Svendborg Brakes in South Africa and an approved service centre for clutches, brakes, gearboxes and torque drives. Sintech can provide the latest technology, such as wind turbine rotor brakes and locks, as well as other Altra Industrial Motion products including Twiflex Brakes, Industrial Clutch and Wichita Clutch.

Sintech presently employs 47 people across two facilities in Johannesburg and Durban that offer engineering, service and sales, and has a complete inventory of Svendborg Brakes.
