Project Description
The project entails the construction of a battery-energy storage system (BESS) at Malgarida PV complex (238 MWp).
The project will help reduce reliance on fossil fuels and cut the associated CO2 emissions. The BESS will have a capacity of 200 MW/1 GWh, enabling it to deliver 200 MW of energy for up to five hours.
This will allow for the PV energy produced at Malgarida to be stored, managed and deployed across different time periods, consequently ensuring that the clean energy generated by the plant during the day can also be dispatched at night. Once completed, the BESS will be one of the largest battery storage projects in Latin America.
