South Africa’s GoMetro expands to Malaysia
South African mobility management platform GoMetro continues its international expansion, this time to Malaysia.
Malaysia-based telematics service provider Active Telematics has teamed up with GoMetro to help commercial fleets in Malaysia and its neighbouring markets as they transition to electric vehicles (EVs).
The alliance combines Active Telematics’ local market knowledge with GoMetro’s technology solutions.
GoMetro’s suite of fleet management tools include EV-CAN for real-time analytics, monitoring and performance insights tailored to EV operations; route planning through the GoMetro Bridge platform to optimise fleet operations; the EV-FIT charging infrastructure planning and implementation tool; and the ConnecTyre Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
“We are thrilled to partner with Active Telematics to bring our innovative solutions to Malaysia,” says GoMetro CEO Justin Coetzee.
“Malaysian customers have been keen to adopt the newest technologies to modernise their fleet operation, enhance road safety, reduce operational down-time and costs, improve safety and consolidate their third-party logistics operations under one platform,” notes Active Telematics MD Omar Hatmi.
“Now, with the EV market expanding, it is the right time. With GoMetro we can meet this demand, and ConnecTyre and Bridge are already being introduced to customers.
“We look forward to expanding this relationship to our customers in [Southeast Asia] as well.”
The partnership is already operational, with pilot programmes rolling out in major Malaysian urban centres in the first quarter of this year.
Admiral Mobility UAE and GoMetro in January formed a joint venture to assist commercial fleet operators transition to electric fleets in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
