Name of the Project
South2Port Power-to-X project.

Location
Municipality of Söderhamn, in Sweden.

Project Owner/s
The project is a collaboration between ABB, Lhyfe and Skyborn Renewables.

Project Description
Skyborn plans to build one of Europe’s biggest hydrogen plants and will contribute to government’s plans to become the world’s first fossil-free welfare country by 2045.

The hydrogen production plant will be connected to Skyborn’s 1 GW offshore wind farm in nearby Storgrundet.

When fully operational, it is expected to produce about 240 t/d of hydrogen, equivalent to about 1.8-million barrels of oil a year, with an installed capacity of 600 MW.

The new plant will support the decarbonisation of the Swedish energy system, either directly with hydrogen supply or by further downstream production of refined fuels such as methanol, sustainable aviation fuel or ammonia.
