The use of specialised work-at-height equipment on mines can help mitigate risks, reduce safety incidences, enhance safety standards and improve efficiency.

Equipment provider Eazi Access says its machines can complete a range of tasks more  quickly and efficiently than traditional scaffolding, helping companies to save time and resources. It asserts that its product range provides flexibility, ensuring that the right machine is used for the given task.

The work-at-height and material handling solutions specialist offers rental, sales, servicing, and training for the mining industry, with fit-for-purpose solutions to meet a mine’s specific requirements.

"We also extend our services to contractors operating on mine sites. Our supply chain accommodates the needs of mines directly or through subcontractors, all of whom are valued customers of Eazi Access. Our offering is further extended to servicing and refurbishing our customers machines,” says Eazi Access business development manager: mining Gerhard Kloppers.

To maintain the highest standards of safety for its equipment and operators, the company participates in and contributes to institutions that guide the industry, such as the Institute for Work at Height (IWH). The mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) chamber of the IWH represents member companies as well as individual practitioners and users in South Africa. Eazi Access is also affiliated to The International Powered Access Federation, which offers training in safe work practices, such as the use of platforms, harnesses, and protective equipment, and recognising and responding to hazards.

The company has partnered with original-equipment manufacturers such as JLG, Manitou, Dingli and Linde Material Handling to provide equipment, and provides sector education and training authority-aligned MEWP training through sister company Uplift Quality Solutions.

“We cater for all our customers who do not have trained machine operators to work on site. We have an extensive footprint across the country and a growing presence throughout sub-Saharan Africa. We have the largest, most diverse fleet of equipment, which is backed by an expansive and experienced network of skilled technicians and spare parts and our commitment to providing 24/7 support to our customers in the mining industry,’’ states Kloppers.
