Business today is marked by disruptions ranging from shifting trade dynamics, geopolitical conflicts, climate catastrophes and energy crises, among many others. An adaptive organisation can quickly adjust its structure and behaviour to the changing state and demands of its environment in the short term, with dynamic operational processes, as well as in the long term, with the necessary strategic modifications.

Being adaptive is key to ensuring a business’s survival and lasting success in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) environment, SAPICS stresses. Recognising this imperative, the organisation has lined up a leading international expert and author to share her insights with South African supply chain professionals in Cape Town next month.

France-based Caroline Mondon, with co-instructor Ken Titmuss, will facilitate an Adaptive Enterprise Foundations (AEF) workshop at Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town on 6 and 7 June 2025, before the 47th annual SAPICS Conference kicks off at the same venue on 8 June 2025. Supply chain professionals from all sectors and at all levels are invited to attend. The AEF programme is designed to introduce individuals working in all areas to the components needed to make an organisation truly adaptive.

Mondon is the author of a bestselling, award-winning management book written as a detective novel: “The Missing Links”. She is the general and development manager of AfrSCM, the French Association of Supply Chain Management, and as master instructor of the Demand Driven Institute (DDI), she co-designed the AEF course. Having managed operations in French and international medium and large manufacturing companies for over 25 years, she has extensive experience and expertise in supply chain management, implementing supply chain functions, planning and scheduling, including sales and operations planning, and in transforming companies into Demand Driven Adaptive Enterprises. She has been a plant manager for the robotics, nuclear and electronic equipment industries, a supply chain implementer and a Supply Chain & Logistics Director for the automotive industry.
