Tau Mining celebrates Women's Month
As a leading open cast mining contractor in Africa, TAU Mining is honoured to highlight a selection of the exceptional women who are integral to the company’s success.
Zeenut Hole
Born in Springbok on November 15, 1991, and armed with an N5 in Human Resources Management, TAU Mining HR clerk Zeenut Hole exemplifies dedication and commitment. Since joining the company at the start of the Gamsberg Project, Hole played an important part in the establishment of the site HR department and assisting to ensure the timeous hiring and onboarding of several new employees. Inspired by Oprah Winfrey and grounded by a life philosophy that values family, she emphasises the importance of being bold and courageous. Her journey from humble beginnings to being a valued member of the site HR team showcases the impact of her unwavering dedication.
Sian Dippenaar
Born on August 25, 1987, in Mashava, Zimbabwe, is the HR Administration Manager at TAU Mining, a prominent mining contractor. With a Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resource Management, Dippenaar exemplifies servant leadership. Her proudest achievement is earning her degree while working fulltime, showcasing her dedication and resilience. Inspired by Alta Weiss, Dippenaar values resilience and the ability to excel in diverse fields. Her life philosophy, "Be your own dream-owner," emphasises taking ownership of one's aspirations and charting a unique path. To women leaders in South Africa, she advises embracing continuous learning, taking ownership, embracing change, investing in oneself, leading by example and empowering teams, underscoring the power women have to shape the future of leadership.
Winny Masina
Born on May 31, 1996, in Tjakastad, Mpumalanga, is the Mining Optimisation Superintendent at TAU Mining. With a BSc (Hons) in Mining Engineering from Wits University, Masina employs a dynamic leadership approach, often blending transformational and visionary management styles to suit diverse situations. Her greatest achievement is her professional versatility, having successfully adapted to various roles and responsibilities. Inspired by Cynthia Carroll, Masina lives by the philosophy of mastering multiple roles with excellence. To women leaders in South Africa, she offers a message of strength, resilience and support, encouraging them to break barriers, celebrate achievements and foster an environment where every woman can thrive, wearing each hat with pride and inspiring others to do the same.
Refilwe Jeanine Pitse
Born on July 12, 1992, in Rustenburg, serves as the Procurement Superintendent, overseeing the procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services while adhering to company ethics and procedures. With a bachelor's degree in Transport Economics and an honours degree in Logistics Management, Pitse is a transformational leader who inspires and develops individuals to reach their full potential. Her proudest achievement is breaking the status quo as the first person in her family to graduate, despite facing significant hardships. She admires Dr Nombasa Tsengwa for her remarkable inspiration and lives by the philosophy of making a lasting, positive impact on others. To fellow women leaders in South Africa, Pitse urges them to let their work speak for itself, break down barriers and ensure women's voices are taken seriously, paving the way for future generations.
