As South Africa’s premier supplier of personal protective equipment (PPE), G.Fox continuously strives to break new ground and offer the very best “fit for purpose” products to their customers. This ethos is embodied in its new brand of EVOLUTION and CUTGUARD gloves and EVOLUTION masks among other quality products.

“The result of five years of dedication, passion and research has yielded the next level in safety gloves. Designed and tested for safety, comfort and endurance, these gloves provide maximum hand protection and durability in the most rugged and physically challenging work conditions like automotive, mining, rigging, construction, machining, assembly and other tough industries,” says G.Fox glove division manager Mark Schewitz.

He explains that the proprietary Evolution Ripple technology palm coating offers superior grip in dry, wet and oily conditions as well as best-in-class abrasion resistance, while the Evolution Impacto Technology offers back-of-hand protection for knuckles and finger joints, safeguarding them from shocks, crushes and impacts.

Further, the grip, durability and cut resistance in the CUTGUARD range have been enhanced, while the gloves’ impact on hand health has been reduced. The design and material used allow for maximum freedom of movement and dexterity.

The range is independently tested by accredited laboratories that carry the Conformité Européene mark, and all components and ingredients used in the manufacturing and construction have been assessed and comply with the European REACH regulation, including the Sanitised (triclosan free) hygiene function, integrated into the gloves, ensuring that the product is “skin friendly”.

“In lightofthe Covid-19 pandemic, G.Fox recognised the unprecedented scale of demand that the South African market would face, owing to possible global shortages and uncontrolled price hikes. “We committed early to reviewing the entire supply chain to provide customerswith a reliable source of product,” says G.Fox MD Sibusiso Khumalo.

He states that the close relationship with clients and the understanding of their needs ensure that the company is constantly striving to meet new levels of safety for users, through technological innovation.

It was determined that manufacturing good quality face masks locally would have the greatest impact against the pandemic and could be used to create employment opportunities and empower local South African talent.

“G.Fox now produces its own range of premium-quality, folded face masks in compliance with SANS50149:2003 which largely mirrors the European specification EN149:2001. Best suited for commercial and industrial use, these masks are effective for day-to-day use and the filtering face piece 2 (FFP2) models are used widely in construction, rigging, mining, agriculture and medical fields. We test every batch of material before we produce to ensure consistency from the supplier, safety for our customers and the quality of the product being produced,” concludes Khumalo.
