TNG appoints new contractor at Mt Peake
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed TNG has appointed engineering and construction group Clough as the lead engineering and the preferred engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for its Mt Peake vanadium/titanium/iron project, in the Northern Territory.
TNG’s long-standing strategic engineering partner and metallurgical consultants SMS group was previously contracted to deliver an EPC proposal but, owing to disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the company reached agreement with SMS to engage with Australia-based engineering and construction companies for the delivery of the Mt Peake project, with the support of SMS and other technical parties.
Under the heads of agreement, Clough will submit to TNG a binding fixed-price, lump sum EPC proposal for delivery of the project subject to completion of any works required and the procurement contracting model. TNG and Clough are also advancing discussions on any additional work that may be required to be undertaken by Clough to facilitate development of this proposal, with any such work to be confirmed under a separate services agreement including detailed scope, costs and scheduling.
“We are delighted to have moved forward with appointing Clough as TNG’s lead engineer and preferred EPC contractor for the delivery of the Mt Peake project. Clough has a strong track record in delivering large projects like Mt Peake, and we are looking forward to working closely with them as they develop their EPC proposal,” said TNG MD and CEO Paul Burton.
“We now have the support of three leading groups for the Project in Clough, SMS group and Ti-Cons, as we progress Mt Peake through the pre-development stage ahead of planned transition into delivery.“
