Transnet has announced that employment of the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) CEO Pepi Silinga was terminated effective July 16 by "mutual agreement".

Silinga, who joined TNPA from the Coega Development Corporation in 2020, had been facing disciplinary charges since June 2024, following a forensic report into a tender at the Port of Ngqura.

"Transnet will soon begin the search for a successor to ensure a seamless transition and consistent implementation of TNPA’s strategic projects.

"Our focus remains on executing our corporate strategy and delivering value to customers, employees and the entire freight logistics chain.

"Advocate Phyllis Difeto will continue to act in the role until it is permanently filled," Transnet said in a statement.
