Location
Village Pirpainti, in the Bhagalpur district of Bihar, in India.

Project Owner/s
India's largest private-sector thermal power generator Adani Power, a subsidiary of Adani Group.

Project Description
Adani plans to build a greenfield 2 400 MW ultra-supercritical power plant and supply the entire net capacity of 2 274 MW to Bihar Utilities.

The power plant will be established under a design, build, finance, own and operate model.

Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to create direct and indirect employment of between 10 000 and 12 000 during the construction phase and about 3 000 once it is in operation.

Capital Expenditure
About $3-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
The first unit will be commissioned within 48 months of the approval date and the last one within 60 months of the approval date.
