Water sector presented with sustainable solutions
Global water professionals recently gathered at the Water Environment Federation's Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC), said to be the largest conference of its kind in the US.
Sulzer showcased its next-generation, sustainable engineering solutions for the complete water cycle, aimed at efficiency improvements for water and wastewater applications. The company provides complete solutions for the clean and wastewater cycles including intake, distribution, treatment and release back into the environment, designed to help operators reduce energy usage, increase uptime and improve water quality.
Sulzer highlighted XFP submersible pumps for wastewater pumping stations, announcing new expanded hydraulic options for its popular model. Other submersible products on display included the RW and XRW mixers, which offer reduced power consumption for mixing and agitation.
The XRCP recirculation pump is said to be ideal for efficient sludge pumping with a specialised design for large flows and low heads, and the HST turboblower with its magnetic levitation bearing technology is suited for aeration applications.
Sulzer also showcased its Johnston pump brand and products from the Nordic Water brand, highlighting innovative and energy efficient filtration solutions for removing particles from water, including a range of screens, sand filters and fiber disc filters.
