Guangxi Nuclear Power, a subsidiary of State Power Investment Corporation.

Project Description
Phase I of the Bailong NPP (units 1 and 2) is planned to include two CAP1000 pressurised water reactors. Once Bailong units 1 and 2 are put into operation, the power generation of the plant will be about 20-billion kilowatt-hours a year.

The project was approved in August 2024 and is expected to take about 56 months to build.

Latest Developments
First concrete has been poured for the nuclear islands, marking the official start of construction of the two CAP1000 reactors.

The units are expected to take 56 months to build. Excavation of about 66 000 m3 of earth to form the foundation pit – which will eventually be 12.2 m deep and cover about 3 000 m2 – started in late December 2024, World Nuclear News reported on January 5.
