Specialist designer, manufacturer and supplier of structural and precast concrete construction elements Peikko South Africa has introduced a range of anchor bolts for securely anchoring concrete, steel structures or machinery into concrete base structures such as foundations, slabs, base columns, columns or walls.

HULCO anchor bolts are designed for easy on-site assembly and relatively short anchorage length and are particularly suited for shallow structures such as slabs and beams. The bolts are said to provide a cost-efficient solution with significant load-bearing capacities for heavy-duty bolted connections.

These construction elements are embedded in concrete and attached to the structures or base plates using nuts and washers. The addition of non-shrinking grout enhances the bond between the bolted connected structure and the base structure, acting as reinforced concrete, providing high tested load-bearing capacities for heavy-duty connections in demanding anchoring applications.

The HULCO product range is available in a choice of 30 mm, 36 mm, 39 mm, 45 mm and 52 mm standard sizes and is compatible with Peikko’s BOLDA column shoes and SUMO wall shoes, enabling a variety of precast connections. CE marked and ETA certified, HULCO anchor bolts are designed to resist various forces including axial, shear, tensile and compressive forces, bending moments, and fire.

The product is available in a choice of different coatings including uncoated, ECO, or hot-dip galvanized options, to suit different project requirements and environments.

Especially designed for industrial construction projects, the unit features a  simple design for speedy on-site erection and compact packaging for optimal use of truck space during transportation. The bolt’s material composition is said to combine light weight with high strength, for easy transport and handling.

Peikko includes reusable installation templates and the new Peikko designer BOLTED CONNECTION cloud-based software tool is provided free of charge for design assistance. The software tool features reporting and calculation updates and enables the standardised design of architectural shapes that deviate from the mainstream. It includes 3D capacity graphs to enable the visual  inspection of load capacities, as well as torsion calculation as a standard feature.
