Bombela says Gautrain services unaffected by strike
The Bombela Concession Company has assured customers that Gautrain services are unaffected by a strike by Bombela Operating Company (BOC) personnel, which started on July 8.
The company notes that the strike affects the staff of the BOC, which is one of the subcontractors appointed by Bombela to operate the rail component of the Gautrain system.
The company explains that the maintenance and the Gautrain bus operations are subcontracted to other entities, which are not affected by the strike at BOC.
It says the BOC is responsible for maintaining compliance of rail operations with all safety standards and regulations.
“The BOC has confirmed to us that all their staff that are currently operating the rail service during the strike are fully compliant with safety regulations.
“The Bombela Concession Company will continue to issue regular updates to Gautrain passengers and will keep them updated of Gautrain services,” it says.
