CIP Process Pumps most suitable for the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Process
With the pharmaceutical industry requiring sterile equipment, industrial pump manufacturer, Verder Pumps South Africa says its PACKO Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) pumps ensure thorough cleaning and complete drainage of pumping systems ensuring hygienic standards are met and contamination is eliminated. Globally, PACKO Pumps are widely and successfully used in demanding sterile applications found in the Pharmaceutical industry.
The PACKO PRP and CRP+ series of pumps which have been designed specifically for the CIP process were introduced into the South African market last year by Verder Pumps South Africa. “PACKO CIP pumps are superior to currently available CIP return pumps, as the design which is unique to PACKO enables the pump to completely empty the tank and discharge line,” says Verder Pumps PACKO Pumps’ specialist; Dwight Nortman. He adds that conventional end-suction pumps may develop an airlock and cavitate when the liquid in the vessel is depleted at the end of the CIP cycle. Due to the unique design of the PACKO CIP pump, the vessel will be completely evacuated even if the pump circuit has an element of static head thus ensuring that the pumps do not airlock and therefore cavitation will not occur.
In addition, the surface finish of the PACKO Pumps are electro-polished as a standard or hand-polished on order eliminating contamination or rust. “Packo Pumps are available in various configurations such as open impellers, semi-closed and closed-impellers,” which ensures that they are appropriate for use across almost all industries. Furthermore, PACKO Pumps are available in a variety of flange and fitting arrangements including DIN and ANSI flanges, various types of hygienic fittings, as well as multiple sealing options for hazardous applications. PACKO pumps are also available for flow rates of up to 2 000 m3/h in close-coupled configuration, “No other pump brand offers the short lead times on a product range that has as many interchangeability options as PACKO pumps,” Nortman concludes.
