A well-defined corporate culture, philosophy and principles, along with industry experts in all its diverse industry channels, enable information technology (IT) services company EOH to achieve strong and sustained growth.

EOH CEO Asher Bohbot notes that all its business channels are functioning effectively and profitably, with no part of the business in crisis. He points to the company’s positive working environment, as well as unity of culture and a strong work ethos, as a critical element in its sustainability, which translates into strong staff retention that underpins its continued growth.

“IT is all about people and we can deliver on projects because we have the right people. We train about 600 people a year, and retain about 450 of these skilled IT professionals. The focus on people and skills makes business sense, as well as helping to develop technical skills for the country’s economy.”

Most of the acquisitions EOH has made, and will continue to make, are strategic acquisitions that incorporate strong-performing and healthy organisations to augment EOH’s services portfolio, as well as to gain the expertise of the people working in these vertical sectors to enable EOH to provide in-depth, relevant and fit-for-purpose solutions for all the industries and sectors it serves.

The company inculcates its corporate culture through a strong focus on leadership and chain of custody, as well as through its use of experts and leaders in the various sectors who understand industry nuances.

Organic growth, augmented by strategic acquisitions to expand EOH internationally and in Africa, is expected to remain the main source of growth for the company, says Bohbot.

“In Africa, we are taking a dual approach, namely we seek to be dominant in the areas we operate in and, secondly, to ensure that, even in countries that are difficult to operate in, we execute all projects correctly first time. Successful and timely execution of quality projects is the best reference we can have on the continent and abroad.”

Further, EOH is adding new products and services to its portfolio and reports robust growth in its business process outsourcing and industrial technologies divisions.

The IT market is growing significantly faster than the general economy, and much of EOH’s countercyclical growth in difficult economic times is bolstered by industries and commercial companies adjusting to this difficult environment and making changes to sustain their businesses. This also reflects in the growth of outsourcing and the consumption of IT systems as services.
