A range of innovative industrial solutions was on show at the recent KwaZulu-Natal Industrial Technology Exhibition (KITE) 2025.

RS South Africa showcased new technologies that prioritise safety, efficiency, and sustainability, particularly focussed on manufacturers, engineers, and plant operators, especially in the food and beverage sector.

RS South Africa sales director Erick Wessels notes that solutions such as connected safety systems, predictive maintenance tools, smart sensors and energy-efficient technologies are designed to improve operational uptime while also helping local businesses meet sustainability goals.

The company highlights its expanding RS PRO range as well as technologies from its ‘Better World’ product portfolio which offer improved environmental credentials, supporting customers who are committed to greener operations. Its product selection focussed on the food and beverage sector includes corrosion-resistant components and hygienic automation gear and high IP-rated sensors, all aimed at balancing performance demands with strict health, hygiene, and compliance standards.

Through its e-commerce platform and smart supply solutions, the company says it enables local businesses to streamline procurement and adopt Industry 4.0 practices. The DesignSpark tool is a free design and engineering platform that helps empower engineers and technicians to innovate, prototype, and access resources at no cost.

In addition, RS says it is committed to helping customers tackle sustainability challenges by offering lifecycle data, eco-conscious packaging, and smart energy monitoring solutions to support carbon reduction and resource optimisation.
